Garden wedding at Old Down

Updated: Jan 20

Kelly & Jason started planning their wedding 3 years ago during the pandemic & our first conversation about flowers was at the start of that planning. 3 years later & Kellys vision was pretty much the same as our ideas in the initial conversation.

The wedding was always going to be held outside in the hope that they would be lucky enough to have a gorgeous summers day - and they did! in fact it was a very hot summers day. the rain did threaten in the morning but fortunately it didnt materialise & no umbrella's were needed!

A choice of luxury scented garden roses, astilbe ammi scabious & jasmine trails & plenty of seasonal foliage created a soft natural style of flowers which blended beautifully with the gardens which were in full bloom at the time, together with the soft sage bridesmaid dresses

With lots of natural greenery & an abundance of flowers in the gardens, selecting flowers & foliages that blended into the space was a priority together with the style of the arrangements, keeping them soft & loose.

The ceremony was to take place in front of the gazeebo so the couple had chosen to have floral columns each side which we created freestanding as this allowed them to be relocated into the barn following ceremony for the wedding breakfast. 8 aisle meadows were also created to highlight the aisle & blend with the surroundings.

Following the ceremony the couple held a drinks reception with live music by Becky Sax in the gardens, a relaxed and fun atmosphere in the sunshine. we relocated the columns and the meadows into the barn where long tables were lined with stem & bud vases. Kirsten of the little wedding helper sprinkled her styling magic around the barn adding lots of special touches . A stunning cake by Sarah Mcnally Cakes & biscuits/cake pops by Esme Bakes completed the look.

The weather & the settings provided perfect conditions for some beautiful images by Naomi Kenton Photography - it was hard choosing just these! being able to create a garden wedding in the UK is a real treat & we loved adding flowers to this lovely couples day.

If you are looking for beautiful bespoke blooms that are a true reflection of you both then complete the enquiry form on the wedding page & we can start talking about your special day.

Review

"I chose Louise 3 years ago to do the flowers for our wedding, and honestly couldn’t have chose anyone better. I didn’t really know much about flowers, so just told Louise my colour ideas, and honestly on the day of our wedding I was blown away. Everything was styled beautifully and the flowers chosen were so pretty - I actually cannot put into words how much I loved everything about our flowers

Louise even told me to enjoy the smell of my bouquet, and it really was beautiful. Not only is Louise an incredible florist, and amazing at what she does, she is also such a lovely person, Louise was always to hand to help with ideas if I had changed my mind, or if I was unsure of something, Louise was also happy to share her own ideas. All my aisle meadows and floral columns used for the ceremony were all repurposed for our wedding breakfast tables, the colours really complimented everything.I loved my flowers so much they are all over my house, and my bouquet is on its way to be put into resin.Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you truly are amazing"
