Spring Wedding of Beth & James

I had the absolute pleasure of creating the wedding flowers for the lovely Beth & James back in April this year. I first met Beth at the Nailsea Tithe Barn christmas fair last year where she introduced herself and described some of her ideas.

On a cold wet day in January I met the

couple at Beth's mums house and we all talked through lots of different ideas to create wedding flowers that would match with a relaxed rustic theme with plenty of texture. As I had chatted to Beth through email over the previous weeks, I had a good idea of her ideas and was able to create 3 mood boards all quite different, as at that stage they hadn't narrowed their ideas. what they did know was that the gentlemen would be wearing navy & the bridesmaid grey. Usually a mood board would be created following a consultation but by this stage I already had quite a few ideas

to present.

Working with the flowers that are in season means you ensure the best quality of blooms & value. Spring offers up some stunning flower choices and it can be quite hard to narrow it down but for Beths bouquet I went for stunning Cloni Ranunculus, scabious, astrantia, Spray rose, Stocks & veronica. Beth loved the floaty look that the green thlaspi foliage creates and it complimented the grey tones of the eucalyptus. Blue eryngium (thistles) tied in with the boys & the touches of grey brunia did the same with the bridesmaid dresses.

This theme was carried through to the corsages for the mums, grandmothers & buttonholes for the groom, dads & ushers. I met with Beth 4 weeks before the wedding at a time when we had just experienced a period of snow! so talking spring flowers seemed an age away. (Fortunately on the day the sun shone & it was the most beautiful perfect spring day). We finalised all the little details & my priority was to ensure Beth felt confident that she could relax and concentrate on all the other aspects of her wedding while leaving everything regarding the flowers to me!

Beth & james were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I loved creating their wedding flowers, so I was so thrilled to received such a lovely review from them after:

"I could not have been happier with my choice as Louise made the most stunning flowers for our big day, she answered all my queries and worries and gave great advice for hand picking the flowers I wanted. Nothing was too much trouble for her, myself and my husband are so grateful for all the help and support she gave us. The flowers were amazing and Louise was also amazing"
